Peace Not War x Marawi Siege Script

Narrator: It's a busy day in Marawi City. Vendors are shouting, selling fruits and vegetables. Children are playing in the streets, and people are walking around. Suddenly, gunshots are heard. Chaos breaks out as ISIS militants arrive with guns and a black flag.

Amyh: Fresh fruits! Buy some!
Enz: Fish! Get your fish here!
(Suddenly, gunshots are heard. People panic and scream. A woman is grabbed by a militant.)

Bien: Hey, you! (points gun) Give me your money!
Jamie: I-I don’t have any money, please help me!
Bien: Give it to me! (searches her bag, finds nothing, throws it aside, points the gun, and pulls her by the hair.)

Carl: You thought the government would save you? Look at what’s left. Shame. (grins)
Dee Jay: Surrender! There’s no law here anymore! You will follow us!
Jamie: Please, I have a family... I didn’t do anything wrong!
Carl: Family? That doesn’t matter now!
Bien: Only the strong survive! (pulls her hair harder)

(Abu Salim signals his men. The woman cries and pleads before she’s shot. People cry and hug each other nearby.)

Jamie: Please, no!
(Bien shoots the woman in the head.)

Militants: Allahu Akbar! Allahu Akbar!
(Curtains Closed)
Boom! blood, flesh, struggle and fear

surrounding in the atmosphere

if one is sulky, one is scorned

if one is not a noble, one is a peasant

there are crimes, abuses, hates and injustices

and the only thing that rules the earth is immorality

Amyh: Sshhh… silence, for the end may come

voices are not made to speak the truth,

but to shout and scream!

Rose: eyes are not made to see the reality,

but to hide the facts and cry, and weep

and the hands are not made to reach out

but to fight instead!

This is not yet over

Bien: this is chaos!
Lee: this is chaos!
Kirby: this is chaos

this is what we call

WAR!

Jamie: It was a day of sorrow and despair,
As Marawi's people faced their deepest fears,
Homes lost, hearts broken in the fight,
Survivors searching for peace in the night.

The Marawi City, respected and honored Mosque.
Shattered! Boom!
Sacred walls crumbled, peace torn apart,
The mosque stood no more, a wounded heart.
Strangers wandered, Boom!

Angel: "I was there!"
Shaila: "I was there!"
Dee Jay: "I was there!"

In a blink, lives were taken.
Mothers, fathers lost; our Muslim brothers suffered.
All that remained were shattered souls and despair.
The cause? TERRORISM—fueled by unspeakable greed.

Rose Marie: "Mother, Father, why did you leave me? Why did they take you away? I’m scared and alone. All I wanted was peace."

Listen, and you will hear the cry of the trouble of

our faith

so now, eliminate all your senses!

Talk, and you will not be heard

for your rights are separate from the other turfs

(Insert Conversation)
Lee: Fellow soldiers, let's fight together for Marawi’s freedom!
Glendel: Faith is our strength in this battle!
Angel: I will give my all for Marawi’s freedom!

Carl: BEHOLD! For the beauty of Marawi were broken because of TERRORISM!

STOP! This are all hatred, hatred and hatred!

YOU! YOU! You who caused this pain, silencing the voices of the youth,
Youth who have the right to dream, to grow, and to be held,
For the unity and progress of Marawi’s future, now stolen.

Jamie: It’s time to wake up!

It’s time to do something!

the clock is ticking… tick tock tick tock

Enz: It is peace and wisdom we want

Shaila: like a steel pad that serves us on it’s path

Jamie: May that be all?

we need to show the true virtue of peace, love

soldiers may march towards the war

guns may kill millions of men

homes may be shuttered

and lives may be called in danger

but one thing is for sure

this is not the end

there is hope

Jamie: We, the youth lays here and wakes up in the advent
 of war processes

Save our future

Join hands together
for what we want is

Peace Not War

(Marawi Song for Ending)

Hindi bala hindi bomba sa Marawi ang sagot
Ang iisang dugo ay galit ang bumabalot
Mga walang kamuwang-muwang kayakap ang luha at takot
Mga maling adhikain ay 'di tamang sagot
Marawi sabay-sabay nating ibabangon
Buong pagmamahal tayo ay aahon
Marawi darating din ang isang dapit-hapon
Sisikat ang araw sa isang bagong ngayon... Marawi......

(Ending)
Enz: Ina, ama (in Muslim) we are free now, Marawi is free!
Shaila: Inshallah! Alhamdulillah, Allah, thank You!
